Monthly Fiber Update: January 2019
Fiber Lands In Friday Harbor!
You may be eligible for a connection with no installation fee.
If you’ve been waiting to get connected to fiber in the Town of Friday Harbor, we have great news. Rock Island fiber is making its way through the town right now bringing up to 1G fiber (1,000 Mbps) to both homes and businesses. Best of all, hundreds of homes and businesses, close to 35% of the town, in fact, can connect with a no-cost fiber build!
We’ve been quietly setting up the infrastructure we need for months in town to be able to distribute fiber on a wide scale. We are happy to announce that we’re ready and that we’ll be doing so at a break-neck pace.

PSA: Clink 911 Outage
Attorney General Bob Ferguson wants to hear from Washingtonians impacted by last month’s statewide 911 outage.
Ferguson asks Washingtonians impacted by the outage to share their stories by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The more than 12-hour 911 outage, which occurred between Dec. 27 and 28, was the second lengthy statewide outage of the emergency call system managed by CenturyLink since 2014.
If you were impacted by the most recent 911 outage in December, email your story to email@example.com. You may or may not be contacted for follow up by the state.
That completes another edition of our Fiber Update newsletter. Thanks for your time and your support. It’s a pleasure and a great honor to serve this county.
