Fiber Optic Technician

Reports To: Manager, Director Fiber Optics Engineering Team
Starting Pay: $27.50/hr (Temp), $30/hr with full benefits after 90 days, annual increases

The principal responsibility of this position is the installation of Rock Island’s Fiber Optic plant. Assists in installing both outside plant and in-home fiber-optic service; Pumping, jetting, and hanging fiber optic cable; Splicing and patching customers onto the network; Troubleshooting connections and interacting with customers on-site. Ability to work independently and seamlessly integrate with the team; stellar customer service skills a must.

Solutions Engineer

Reports to:  Manager, SVP Solutions Engineering Team
Compensation Range:  $25.00/hr – $40.00/hr with full benefits after 3 months

This position is responsible primarily for providing technical services for customers at the customer premises but may also provide these services from the office or other remote locations. This position also includes providing technical services in support of the company’s internal operations, working with both residential and business customers, trouble-shooting network operations in addition to facilitating network connections and installations.

Fiber Splicer, Outside Plant

Reports To:  Manager, Fiber Optic Engineering Team

Compensation Range
$65,000.00 to $80,000.00 plus full benefits after three months

Rock Island Communications is currently searching for a Fiber Splicer, Outside Plant in the San Juan County, WA area. This individual may be based anywhere in this county including San Juan, Orcas, Lopez, Shaw Islands. This position is responsible for playing a vital role in ensuring quality and timely deliveries of our fiber services along with additional services to customers
